What is the recommended dose for Kwellada-P™ Lotion?

When using Kwellada-P™ Lotion you need to thoroughly massage a sufficient quantity of the lotion into the skin to cover the entire area from the neck to the soles of the feet, paying particular attention to the areas between the fingers and toes, under the fingernails and toenails, wrists, armpits, genital area and buttocks. You must leave Kwellada-P™ Lotion on for 12-14 hours. For child age 2 and above a single treatment will kill scabies mites and eggs in most cases. A second application may be given 7 - 10 days after the first treatment if live scabies mites are present or new skin lesions appear. In most cases only a single application will be necessary.

Who can use Kwellada-P Lotion?

Consult a physician before using the product on children under the age of 2 or if pregnant or nursing. There are no special directions for use on the elderly, speak to your pharmacist or physician if you have any concerns. This product should not be used on pets.

How does Kwellada-P™ Lotion work?
Kwellada-P™ Lotion causes damage to the nerve cells of the insects which paralyzes them and eventually kills them. Some itching may still persist for up to 2 weeks after treatment. This is due to the eggs and fecal pellets left behind by the mites in your skin. The itching will subside with the natural loss of the upper layer of the skin.

Where can I use Kwellada-P™ Lotion? Kwellada-P™ Lotion is designed to treat the body which is infested with scabies mites and their eggs. Kwellada-P™ Lotion should be used on the entire body from the neck down to the soles of the feet, paying particular attention to the areas between the fingers and toes, under the fingernails and toenails, wrists, armpits, genital area and buttocks.

Should I expect any side-effects when using Kwellada-P™ Lotion?
During a scabies infestation, the skin is often irritated resulting in abnormal redness of the skin, swelling and itching. These symptoms can become temporarily worse following treatment, with the itching possibly persisting for several weeks after treatment. The itching will gradually subside with the natural loss of the upper layer of the skin.

What is the difference between Kwellada-P™ Lotion and Kwellada-P® Creme Rinse?
Kwellada-P® Creme Rinse contains 1% permethrin and is indicated for the treatment of head lice. Kwellada-P™ Lotion contains 5% permethrin and is indicated for the treatment of scabies mites and eggs on the body. These products are not interchangeable.

What are the differences between Kwellada-P™ Lotion and Nix® Dermal Cream?
Both contain the same active ingredient 5% permethrin. Choose either Kwellada-P™ Lotion or Nix® Dermal Cream depending on your preference for lotion or cream.

What is the active ingredient in Kwellada-P Lotion?
Kwellada-P Lotion contains 5% Permethrin (a synthetic derivative of pyrethrin, which is a naturally occurring insecticide from the flowers of the chrysanthemum plant).

What should I do if product accidentally comes in contact with someone's eyes or is swallowed?
If the product accidentally comes into contact with someone's eyes rinse well with plenty of water and pat dry with a clean towel. In case of accidental swallowing induce vomiting and call 911 or consult physician or poison control centre immediately. If irritation occurs due to allergies or sensitive skin on scalp -please consult physician or pharmacist.

How do I dispose of the product/packaging?

To dispose of unused product dilute it with water and pour it down the drain. To dispose of bottle rinse well to remove all traces of product and then recycle with your other household plastics. Dispose of the carton in your cardboard/paper recycling.
